You can optimize anything to the infinity degree. It doesn’t matter how smart you are. Pick wisely WHAT you decide to optimize.

For example with Slide, Max Levchin had brilliant engineers whose jobs where solely to increase the number of pokes (which is kind of a like on Fb) per user. Ultimately, they spent years just optimizing for nothing, Slide doesn’t exist anymore.
